A grand reopening for Abney Amstutz Eye Center will be held Thursday, March 15th, from 11:00 a.m. as they celebrate new additions to their team. There will be free refreshments prepared by the Hart County Cattlemen's Association.
United Way of Southern Kentucky (UWSK) is currently holding a region wide food drive aptly titled “Feed the Need” in Allen, Barren, Butler, Hart, Logan, Simpson, and Warren counties that will end on March 17th. Companies, organizations, and groups in these counties can participate by holding internal food drives starting today and delivering those collected items to their county’s distribution location on March 16th. Volunteers are also needed to pass out flyers and collect donations at participating grocery stores March 16th (10am – 6pm) and March 17th (9am – 1pm) at select grocery stores in each county. Volunteers are also needed at most collection sites in each county to assist with sorting and counting donations. All donations will benefit food banks in the county in which the donations are collected. If you are interested in helping to “Feed the Need” by volunteering to run an internal food drive within your company, group, organization, school, or church, or at an in-store drive, sign up by logging onto the United Way of Southern Kentucky website at www.liveunitedtoday.com.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held Friday, March 16th, at The Getaway on Main Street in Munfordville at 3:30 p.m. followed by light refreshments.

The Bowling Green Hot Rods will host Fan Fest at Bowling Green Park on Saturday, March 17th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Individual game tickets will go on sale at the Box Office at 10:00 a.m., along with season ticket packages. There will be free stadium tours for fans, as well as merchandise for purchase. A free Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Mt. Hermon Community Center on Saturday, March 17th, starting at 1:00 p.m. There will be hot dogs, snacks and drinks. Prizes will be given for the most eggs and prize egg for each age group. For more information, call 270-427-8400.

Kentucky Southern Gospel Music Singing Convention board of directors will have an evening of Gospel Music Singing at Knoxes Creek Baptist Church in Hart County on Sunday, March 18th, at 6:00 p.m. The groups singing will be the Gospel Cavaliers, We're Blessed, The Sexton's, the Samaritan's, the Gospel Crusaders, Margaret Jones, the Truth Trio and the Gospel Hart's. The City of Glasgow City Clean-Up Week will be held Monday, March 19th, through Friday, March 23rd, with regular garbage collection days. Large items collected include: couches, mattresses, dressers, chairs/recliners, shelves and windows, along with bundled tree and shrub trimmings. All items must be near the curb/near the garbage can and away from utility poles. Items not collected include: hot water heaters, tires, construction materials, oil or pesticides.
Cave City Free City Wide Clean Up Monday, March 19th, through Saturday, March 24th, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The location will be across from the firehouse. Remember, not tires, paint or hazardous materials.

Hart County Schools will hold Kindergarten registration on Tuesday, March 20th, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at each elementary school. Parents are asked to register their child at the school where they will attend and to bring the following information with them: physical examination record, an up-to-date immunization certificate, a birth certificate, child's social security card, eye exam form and dental exam form (these two forms required before January 2019. Cave Country Lions Club is sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast Saturday, March 24th, from 6:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Cave City Christian Church Fellowship Hall on Broadway. Please use the back entrance. All donations are greatly appreciated with proceeds going toward the club's community activities, charities and vision programs.

A special service will be held at the Lighthouse Church on Sunday, March 25th. There will be several special guests such as: Ron Miller, Joe Milby, Judy Jones and David Reed. Friends of Barren River Lake & Park will host Cruzin the Barren County Car Show Saturday, April 21st. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. with trophies awarded to Top 15 classics and top 15 late models.
