April 1st, 2023

 

Cave City Cars & Coffee will be Saturday, April 1st, beginning at 8:00 a.m. with Mustang Mania. Also, Cave City Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held April 1st, at 1:00 p.m. at Cave City Convention Center. Age groups are: 3 yrs & under, 4-7 yrs, 8-15 yrs, 16-20 yrs, 21-54 yrs & 55 yrs & up. Three grand prize eggs per age group and refreshments will be available and photos can be taken with the Easter Bunny. There will be live entertainment Saturday night as well. Listen to Studio 101 WLOC for chances to win tickets for the concert.

 

Hart County Solid Waste announces 2023 dates for Free Large Item Drop Off. All Saturday times are 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

April 1st, May 6th, June 3rd, July 8th, August 5th, September 9th, October 7th & November 4th.

Items considered free large drop off items:

couches, chairs, recliners, mattresses, box springs, tvs, tables, dressers, and large furniture

Paint: must be mixed 50/50 with cat litter or sand

Metal and large appliances: free year round (refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, dryers, most dishwashers, water heaters, microwaves, grills.

April 19th, 2023

 

Wisdom Faith Christian Academy Registration for 2023-2024 will be held Wednesday, April 19th, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Registration fee is $50, book fee is $100 & monthly fee is $130 X 10 months. April 22nd, 2023

Tractor & Truck Pull will be held at Hart County Fairgrounds in Munfordville, Saturday, April 22nd, at 7:00 p.m. Registration begins at 6:00 p.m. The gate fee is $10 and hook fee is $20. April 27th, 2023

South Central Workforce Development Board for the Hart County Workforce Collective event will be held Thursday, April 27th, at 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Hart County High School auditorium. This is a free event and advanced registration is required due to limited number of seats. For more information, contact the Hart County Chamber of Commerce.

 

 

May 12th, 2023

25th Anniversary Celebration for WLOC Clothes for Kids will be held Friday, May 12th, on the Munfordville Courthouse Lawn from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There will be $10 shoulder plates which include: baked beans, chips, cookie & drink. Also, visit WLOC Radio South Africa Hunting Trip Facebook page for details and to place bids for the excursion which is for four people, meals included. The package is valued at over $12,000 and proceeds will go to Clothes for kids. The top bidder will be announced May 12th.

The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is offering the public the opportunity to own a brand-new vehicle in 2023. The agency’s non-profit, Trooper Island Camp, is raffling off a luxurious 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali 4WD, and proceeds from the sales support the camp for underprivileged children. Coming from Bailey-Gibson Buick GMC in Glasgow, Ky. It’s equipped with a 5.3L, EcoTec3 V-8 engine, and an integrated trailer brake controller and trailering package.

Last year, Trooper Island Camp set a new record by selling all 35,000 tickets for the 2022 GMC Sierra raffle truck.

Tickets are $10 each and are available on the Trooper Island website or any KSP post throughout the state. A total of 50,000 tickets will be sold, with the raffle truck drawing on August 27, 2023, at 3 PM (ET) at the Kentucky State Fair.

Trooper Island is a free summer camp for underprivileged boys and girls aged 10-12 operated by the Kentucky State Police on Dale Hollow Lake in Clinton County. It is financed entirely by donations; no public funds are used.

 

 

September 15th, 2023

Horse Cave Heritage Festival will be held downtown Horse Cave September 15th & 16th. There will be live music, food trucks, crafts, clothing, games, mini train, bouncy houses and more. Friday hours are 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday hours are 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Applications for vendors may be picked up at Horse Cave City Hall or at www.horsecaveky.org and facebook.com/horsecaveheritagefestival. Open Enrollment for health insurance through kynect health coverage, Kentucky’s health insurance marketplace, is underway through January 15th. Open Enrollment is your chance to enroll for health coverage and see if you are eligible for payment assistance to lower your premium.  It’s possible your coverage options have changed since a carrier has increased its coverage counties.  Visit kynect.ky.gov or call 1-855-4kynect to review your options, find local help, and enroll.
