Community Action of Southern Kentucky announces participation in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program. Meals will be served at no separate charge to enrolled participants at the center. Congressman Brett Guthrie will be in Hart County Thursday, August 21st, at 4:30 p.m.

The Hart County Community chorus is planning for this year's Christmas concert. This group has been singing for over 25 years and all singers are welcome. There are no auditions, but you need to be able to carry a tune and willing to come to rehearsals. There is a $20 participation fee per person. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings, beginning October 14th, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Horse Cave Baptist Church. Interested singers should sign up soon. Branstetter Park Homecoming will be held Saturday, August 23rd, at 10:00 a.m. in Summer Shade with a Bluegrass Festival. Admission is free. Bands will include South Bound, Lone Creek and Bluegrass Express, all pickers and singers are invited, bring a lawn chair. Concessions will be available. There will be lots of children's activities, horseshoe games, checkers and cornhole. The Hoss Foundation, a 501 C3 non-profit group founded by 991 radio to help with clothing needs for students in Metcalfe County Schools, will host a Big Bar-B-Que on Friday, Sept. 5th, all day on the courthouse square in Edmonton. Serving barbeque shoulder and chicken plates consisting of cole slaw, chips and a drink for $6.  Deliveries will be available in Edmonton by calling 270-774-1485. All money raised will be deposited into the HOSS Foundation to help our children in Metcalfe County. Everyone is invited to come out or call your order in and donate to this great cause.

The Horse Cave Zoning Ordinance addresses political campaign signs as follows: "Polictical campaign signs announcing the candidacy of individuals or those which seek support for or against a proposition to be voted on may be placed upon private property with the consent of the owner or owners. Such political signs must not exceed twenty square feet in area and must be removed within 7 days after the vote is taken."  No signs should be placed on public right-of-way property or at any location that hinders a driver's line of sight, paying special attention to corner lots. Violations of the ordinance may result in signs removed and stored for 30 days at City Hall for candidates to pick up.

From the Abundance of the Hart Food pantry will be open every 3rd Thursday of the month at the Munfordville Baptist Church from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.  Also the food pantry is open on the following Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. You must meet the income eligibility guidelines and only receive commodities one time per month.
