Free COVID-19 testing will continue at Family Medical Center of Hart County in Munfordville, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and also by appointment.. Please bring your insurance card, pre-registration is not required.
T. J. Samson Community Hospital is offering a bereavement support group.. There is no charge to attend but registration is required. Hart County Schools are back in session. In person classes are underway, with half of students attending Mondays and Thursdays, known as "A Group" with last name A through L, and the other half of in-person students will attend Tuesday and Fridays, known as "B Group" with last names beginning with M through Z. Masks are required and temperatures will be taken before boarding the bus and entering the school building. Wednesdays will be virtual learning for all to allow for deep cleaning of all buildings. Caverna Schools will resume in-person classes Monday, October 12th. Fall break will be October 5-9 (no distance learning). The food distribution will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday of each week.

Lighthouse Church in Horse Cave is holding a benefit revival nightly at 6:00 p.m. The revival will be outside if weather permits with special singing nightly. Preachers will include: Bro. Help Kids Thrive, a fundraiser with the Bowling Green Hot Rods, will team up with Bluegrass Cellular and Stuff the Bus, in order to guarantee that students in need will have the school supplies they need for a successful school year. School supplies may be dropped off at the Hot Roads front office during business hours or go to www.bghotrods.com and purchase a school supplies bundle. The event is underway through Friday, October 2nd.

Singing on the Hill will be held at Friendship Baptist Church Saturday, October 10th. A silent auction will begin at 12:00 p.m. and food will be available throughout the day. The Church is located at 2200 Friendship Church Rd. in Magnolia . Proceeds will go to the repairs of the Church.

The Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce’s Community Christmas Parade will happen on December 5th this year. The theme this year is “Heroes of 2020,” and the grand marshal consists of local doctors, nurses, healthcare workers and first responders. Parade units and floats are asked to limit the maximum number of people riding or being involved to 10 people. Spectators are asked to remain with their families and are asked to wear a mask. The route will extend along South Green Street to the South Gate Plaza. Applications will be available on Oct. 1st and the entry fee is $15. Entries must be received by Friday, Nov. 6th., and they will be available at www.glasgowbarrenchamber.com. They may be submitted at the Chamber of Commerce, which is located at 118 E. Public Square in Glasgow. After Nov. 6, the entry fee increases to $30.
The Kiwanis Club of Glasgow's 27th Annual James W. Barton Memorial Golf Scramble has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 19th, at Fox Hollow Golf Course beginning at 8:00 a.m. If you would like to enter a team in the scramble, be a hole sponsor, or have any questions, please call James Bratcher at 270-670-5144. Team entry is $200 per team and hole sponsor is $100.
