Volunteers are needed to help fill Easter eggs at Caveland Baptist Church in Cave City on Wednesday, April 16th, at 6:00 p.m. The Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Cave City annual Easter Egg hunt on Saturday, April 19th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Cave City Convention Center. The church is providing face painting, inflatables and live music. Also children will be able to paint an egg.
The Hoss Foundation, a 501-C-3 Non Profit organization organized to help with the clothing needs of the students of Metcalfe County, will have an organizational meeting Wednesday, April 16th, at Metcalfe County High School at 3:00 p.m. The foundation is being formed by 99.1 "The Hoss" to assist the students of Metcalfe County with clothing and other needs. The City of Cave City will receive sealed bids on two trucks to be sold to the highest sealed bidder. The first truck is a 1992 Ford F350 XLT, 2wd dump bed diesel, the second truck is a 1985 GMC 1 ton, 4x4, diesel with snow plow and extras. From the Abundance of the Hart Food Bank, a certified member agency of Feeding America, will be distributing food in the gymnasium of the Munfordville Baptist Church to those who qualify Thursday, April 17th from 1:30-5:00 p.m. & Friday, April 18th from 8:00-11:00 a.m. or until the food is gone. Only one person per household can receive the food. To qualify for this program you must meet the household income eligibility provided by Feeding America, show proof that you live in Hart County, Only receive commodities one time each month. Those 60 years old and older can fill out an application for additional food from the Commodity Supplemental Food Program. Qualifications for this program are show proof that you are 60 years old or older, show proof that you live in Hart County, show proof of income for all members of your household, meet the household income eligibility guidelines provided by Feeding America.

Metcalfe County Clerk Carol England Chaney wants to remind everyone the last day to register to vote in the May primary is Monday, April 21st. The office has started mailing absentee paper ballots and voting on the absentee machine will begin May 1st.

The Hart County Rescue Squad is sponsoring "Meet the Candidates" on Saturday, April 19th, at 5:00 p.m. at the Munfordville Fire Department Building. A pulled pork meal will be served up with drink and dessert for $7. The auction begins at 7:00 p.m. Come out and help support the Hart County Rescue Squad.

James Luttrell Memorial Pleasure Horse Show will be April 19th at 5pm at the Central KY Ag/Expo Center in Liberty, KY. In July 2013 James suffered a massive stroke and died from complications. The Hart County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their Office Professionals Appreciation Luncheon on how to Plant the Seeds for Success on Wednesday, April 23rd, at 12 noon at the Hart County Agriculture Center at the fairgrounds on S. Dixie Hwy. Munfordville. The featured guest speaker will be Gina Lyon, Communications Instructor at Western Kentucky University. A Tractor Drive, both antique and modern will be held Saturday, April 26th, starting at 10:00 a.m., to benefit Relay for Life in Hart County. The ride will begin in Horse Cave at Bale Warehouse #1 and return back for lunch, provided by Dairy Queen of Munfordville, and a live auction. There is an entry fee of $25 per tractor. All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society in memory of Silas Crain and in honor of Ricky and Sherry Waddell. Friends of Mammoth Cave, a group of concerned citizens and community leaders working with the National Park Service started the organization in order to preserve and protect Mammoth Cave National Park. At the same time, the Friends Organization hopes to enhance visitors' and family experiences for years to come. The organization works to fund important projects and initiatives many of which are beyond the financial capacity of the National Park Service. The Friends of Mammoth Cave National Park receives no annual government funding, relying instead upon the support of private citizens, foundations, and corporations.
