September 21st, 2017

Cub Run Elementary School is hosting a Circle A Donkey Basketball game on Thursday, September 21st, at 6:00 p.m., sponsored by Cub Run PTO. Admission is $6 in advance and $8 at the gate. Tickets are on sale at the school or contact any PRO officer or student. All proceeds will go toward technology and student activities.

 

Cub Run Days will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There will be a parade, car show, Fire Dept. BBQ Supper, hayrides, Womanless Beauty Pageant, auction, fireworks, quilt show games and lots of vendors.

 

Fall revival services will be held at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Thursday, September 21st, through Sunday, September 24th, at 7:00 p.m. each evening and 11:00 a.m. Sunday. The evangelist will be Mike Akridge from Hodgenville.

 

 

September 22nd, 2017

 

Cave City Proud Days will be held downtown Cave City September 22nd and 23rd. On Friday the 5K Run begins at 5:30 p.m. There will be carnival rides and live music with Arthur Hatfield and Buck Creek. On Saturday, a pancake breakfast will be held from 6:00 to 10:00 a.m. and live music begins at 2:00 p.m. with Country Strong, Nightfall and Red Shadow. A tractor and trailer will be hauling a load of donated items to Houston, Texas, for the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Donations needed include: cleaning products, bleach, paper towels, diapers, wipes, baby formula, non perishable items, canned goods, can openers and new clothing. Items can be brought to WLOC radio station on 31-W in Horse Cave, the Hart County Courthouse, Caverna Florist in Cave City, Green River Hill Grocery on 31-E and Bida Nova at 2700 Dripping Road off of Dishman Lane in Bowling Green. Monetary donations will be accepted as well. Churches and organizations can also collect and call for pick-up at 270-816-3172. Donations need to be turned in by Friday, September 22nd.

A BBQ Fundraiser for WLOC Clothes for Kids - Angel Program will be held Friday, September 22nd, at Horse Cave Park from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pork Shoulder and BBQ Sandwich plates will be available with side and chips for $6. Add a dessert for an additional $1. Local delivery will be available with a minimum order of 5 plates. Modern Woodmen of America will match up to $2500. A Hart County Health Department Building Dedication Ceremony will be held Friday, September 22nd, at 1:00 p.m. at 500 AA Whitman Lane for the unveiling of the Dr. Ernie Fletcher Building. Hart County Judge Executive Terry Martin will open the ceremony with various speakers including: Secretary Vickie Yates Glisson, Mark Birdwhistel, Dennis Chaney and Billy Goodman. The special guest will be Dr. Ernie Fletcher.

ARK (Animal Rescue Kare) will host a Golf Scramble Saturday, September 23rd, at Shady Hollow Golf Course in Cub Run. Tee off is at 8:00 a.m. with team cash prizes. Hart County Farm, Garden & Hunting Expo will be held Saturday, from 9 to 2 at the Hart County Fairgrounds in Munfordville.

Learn about growing fruit trees in Kentucky, Agriculture and farming today, introduction to Beekeeping and more. There will be cooking demonstrations, locally made crafts and products, petting zoo, along with vendor booths and special exhibits. Register to win a Yeti Cooler. River Pointe Church presents the 3rd Annual Riverfest at Thelma Stovall Park on Saturday, September 23rd, from 4 to 8 p.m. Activities will include: inflatables, knockerball, live music from local bands, food vendors, and fireworks. The 8th Annual Big Buffalo Crossing BBQ Cook-Off will be held in downtown Munfordville Friday and Saturday, October 20th and 21st.  This free event is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society and BBQ teams will be competing for $15,000 in prize money. The 2017 Kentucky State Gospel Singing Convention will host gospel singing groups from Kentucky, Tennessee and Illinois on Friday, October 20th, at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 21st, at 5:30 p.m. at the Cave City Convention Center. This years - 72-year anniversary will feature 26 different duets, trios and quartets. Admission is free and concessions will be available.
