The WLOC Clothes for Kids Spring Radio Auction will begin Monday, April 27th, at 9:00 a.m. on WLOC radio station and wloconline.com. WLOC is currently collecting donations from businesses as well as individuals. Suggested items include: gift certificates, crafts, antiques, country hams, theme baskets, old coins and lots of delicious baked goods. Items can be dropped off at the WLOC radio station on 31-W. All proceeds go toward the purchase of new clothing for students in the Hart County and Caverna School systems working through the 9 family resource centers. The 2015 Drive for a Cure will be held Saturday, April 25th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Horse Cave Bale Warehouse #1. This relay for life event is in memory of Rickey Waddell and in honor of Jason Metcalfe. The entry fee is $25 per tractor. Learn outdoor skills such as orienteering, first aid, knot tying, water safety and how to build a campfire. Skills like these can be the foundation for a lifetime of adventures. All activities meet at the visitor center and will last about 45 minutes. A special event patch may be earned.
A Benefit for Johnny and Faye Harper Hines will be held Wednesday, April 25th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Old Horse Cave Fire Department. There will be a BBQ dinner, silent auction and bluegrass music. All proceeds will help with living and medical expenses.

Hart County Repair Affair is currently accepting home repair applications for elderly and disabled home owners. Hart County Repair Affair is an all volunteer community event that provides low-income, disabled and elderly homeowners with free home repairs. To be eligible, an applicant must be 60 years of age or permanently disabled, own your own home and meet certain income requirements. Applications can be picked up at Community Action at 509 A. A. Friends of Mammoth Cave, a group of concerned citizens and community leaders working with the National Park Service started the organization in order to preserve and protect Mammoth Cave National Park. At the same time, the Friends Organization hopes to enhance visitors' and family experiences for years to come. The organization works to fund important projects and initiatives many of which are beyond the financial capacity of the National Park Service. The Friends of Mammoth Cave National Park receives no annual government funding, relying instead upon the support of private citizens, foundations, and corporations.
