April 16th, 2024 

 

Hart County Historical Society invites you to hear about Outhouses...  Yes... Outhouse Memories is the topic being presented by Beverly Heath, who is a farm girl, born and raised on a Kentucky Historical Farm that has been in her family over 200 years. Her presentation is set for Tuesday evening, April 16th.  Light refreshments will be served at 6:15 with Heath's presentation set for 6:30.

From the Abundance of the Hart commodity distribution will be held Friday, April 19th, at the gym in the rear of Munfordville Baptist Church from 10:30am - 2pm. Please have a place ready in your vehicle to receive as it is a "drive thru" service.  For more information about distribution or qualifications in signing up for the program, call Linda at 270-786-4339.

Little Clifty Baptist Church in Clarkson will have Youth Night Tuesday night at 5:30 EST. It is a Pizza Pig Out for youth. During the worship service, Miss Teen Kentucky will share her testimony. There will be a service Wednesday night with preaching by Fred Luter African American Pastor from New Orleans.

 

 

 

April 20th, 2024

 

Monroe Missionary Baptist Church is hosting a Benefit Church - Yard/Bake Sale Saturday, April 20th, from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There will be Clothes, toys, furniture and miscellaneous items, along with pies, cakes, cookies, drink and more. Fill a bag up with clothes for only $3. The church is located at 7598 Defries Road, Canmer in Hart County. Proceeds will go toward necessary renovations inside the church.

 

Hart of Autism is hosting "Straight From the Hart" at the Hart County Fairgrounds Floral Hall on Saturday, April 20th.  A dinner and silent auction are planned.  Anyone who would like to donate items for the auction should contact Sara Hileman at 270-537-5381.  Hart of Autism is a legally recognized non-profit organization which supports educators and family member as children receive therapy while promoting awareness of autism throughout the community. Their lone source of funds is donations and fundraisers.

 

 

 

April 21st, 2024

 

Crimson Chord will be singing at the Faith Independent Church on Sunday, April 21st, at 6:00 p.m. The church is located at 230 Boyd’s Knob Road, Munfordville. Everyone is invited to attend. The pastor is Bro. Joey Sexton.

 

 

 

April 25th, 2024

If you are an employee of an area attraction, come out to the Caveland Exploration Celebration. The event will be held Thursday, April 25th, from 11am - 7pm at Cave Area Conference Center. Attendees will receive a free "Caveland Fast Pass."  Door prizes will also be given.

 

 

 

April 27th, 2024

Mt. Olivet Baptist Church will be having Spring Revival Thursday, April 25th - Saturday, April 27th, at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 28th, at 11:00 a.m. with a fellowship meal after service.  Bro. Bobby Wood will be preaching.  There will be special singing each night.  The church is located on Cub Run Hwy, 3 miles west of Munfordville.

Munfordville Tourism Commission welcomes everyone out to the Cherry Blossom Festival, which will take place on the square on Saturday, April 27th. Vendors, concessions and a good time are set for all... come on out and enjoy.

 

May 3rd, 2024

A benefit is being held to help a family with funeral expenses and a headstone, Friday, May 3rd, at 5:00 p.m. at C&J Cafe, located at 698 Crail Hope Road, Shady Grove. There will be BBQ sandwiches, hotdogs, baked beans, slaw, and drinks, along with an auction and cake walk. Raffle tickets will be sold as well. For more information, call 270-565-2654.

Hart County Solid Waste announces the 2024 Free Large Item Drop-Off Dates on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12 p.m.

 

May 4th

June 1st

July 13th (second Saturday)

August 3rd

Examples of Free Large Drop-Off Items:

couches, chairs, recliners, mattresses, box springs, tv, tables, dressers, large furniture.

Paint: must be mixed 50/50 with cat litter or sand

Metal: metal is free year round

Large Appliances: Free year around (refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, dryers, most dishwashers, water heaters microwaves and grills)

There is a charge on all household trash, construction debris, building materials, carpet and tires.

May 6th, 2024

 

Clothes for Kids Radio Auction 2024 will be held during the week of May 6th.

 

Auction items are needed, along with baked goods and can be brought to Studio 101 WLOC radio station in Horse Cave.

 

Suggested items include: crafts, gift certificates,

country hams, theme baskets, toys, tools, home

decor, and homemade baked goods.

Clothes for Kids is a non-profit organization and

serves the nine family resource centers in Hart

County and Caverna schools.

The American Red Cross needs your help in 2024 as a volunteer.  Around 1,000 people in Kentucky and Southern Indiana make up the organization's force of response and support.  Folks to help as disaster action team members and blood donor ambassadors are especially needed.
