The 2015 Edmonton-Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Banquet will be held Monday, November 30th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Metcalfe County High School cafeteria. The Hart County Chamber of Commerce will hold it's annual meeting on Thursday, December 3rd. The evening is devoted to acknowledging and celebrating the achievements of several local individuals, organizations and businesses. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. and will be held at the Hart County Agriculture Center at the fairgrounds in Rowletts. The Metcalfe County Historical Society Second Annual Christmas Tree Decorating Contest "Christmas Trees of Conviction 2015" will get underway with set ups on Friday, December 4th, at the Metcalfe County Historical Jail. Display dates will be Sunday, Dec. 6th, and Saturday, Dec. 12th. Admission is $2 and money votes can be made toward your favorite tree. The entry fee is $15 per tree. All proceeds will be used to continue the restoration of the Jail.

The Glasgow Community Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, December 5th, at 6:00 p.m. The Salvation Army will be grand marshal and the them is "An Angel Tree Christmas". Applications are now available at the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce Office or you may download an application at www.glasgowbarrenchamber.com. The deadline for completed applications and a $15 entry fee is November 13th. Applications will be accepted November 14th - 20th with a $30 entry fee.
The Cave City Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, December 12th, at 4:00 p.m. This year's theme is "Our Historic Hometown". An outdoor living nativity featuring music and drama will be held Sunday, December 6th, at 6:00 p.m. at Rowletts Baptist Church. The title is "He Has Come For Us". Refreshments will be served in the church fellowship hall following the performance. Bro. Dwayne Cook is the church pastor.
"Stockings from the Heart" Non-profit organization helping children of Hart County. There are many children who live in our community that are less fortunate. The stress of the season mixed with financial stress can be a lot for anyone to handle. All money raised will provide a child that traditional red stocking full of exciting toys for little ones on Christmas morning. Any donations are greatly appreciated. Friends of Mammoth Cave, a group of concerned citizens and community leaders working with the National Park Service started the organization in order to preserve and protect Mammoth Cave National Park. At the same time, the Friends Organization hopes to enhance visitors' and family experiences for years to come. The organization works to fund important projects and initiatives many of which are beyond the financial capacity of the National Park Service. The Friends of Mammoth Cave National Park receives no annual government funding, relying instead upon the support of private citizens, foundations, and corporations.
