Hart County Historical Society will celebrate Black History Month February 17th, at 6:00 p.m. The speaker will be Abraham Williams, Executive Director of Bowling Green Housing Authority. Bonnieville Church of God of Prophecy, along with Pastor Dewayne and Minerva Kidd, will host Salt Covenant Network Friday and Saturday, February 17-18th, at 7:00 p.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. Saturday, at the church in Bonnieville. The Spirituals will sing Sunday, February 19th, at 5:30 p.m. at Grace Union Baptist Church in Metcalfe County. The church is located about 3 1/2 miles from Edmonton on Hwy 496, the Subtle Road. The pastor is Bro. Troy Cook.

The Hart County 4-H Radio Auction will be held during the week of February 27th, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Studio 101 WLOC radio station. Listen in for some great deals and get ready to bid and buy while helping out Hart County 4-H.


The Clothes for Kids Annual Spring Radio Auction will be held during the week of March 27th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Studio 101 WLOC.  Clothes for Kids is a 501-C3 organization and all monetary donations are tax-deductible. Proceeds go toward buying clothing for children in Hart County and Caverna School systems working through the nine resource centers. Items are being collected for the auction, such as: tools, household items, theme and gift baskets, gift certificates, country hams, toys, sheet sets and baked goods. You may drop your items off at the radio station and monetary donations can be made to: Clothes for Kids, P. O. Box 98, Horse Cave, Ky. 42749.


Cinderella's Closet is a Barren County Organization that assists eligible Glasgow/Barren County young women attend their prom. This non-profit organization provides dresses and accessories to those who can't afford to attend their prom. This year's local event will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 500 S. Green Street on March 11th. Cinderella's Closet accepts monetary donations and all are tax deductible. The Masseys will host a singing at Lifegate Church, 900 Coral Hill Road, on Saturday, March 4th, at 6:30 p.m. Special guests will be Mission of Love, from Elkton, Ky. and Christian Country artist Dennis Boling.

A benefit singing will be held for James and Sandy Meredith March 11th, at 6:00 p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church at 575 Winfield Dr., Bowling Green. The singing will feature the Music City Boys, and also singing will be Linda & Larry Overton, Keith Sargent, Jerry Hatcher and others. James san with several quartets through the years and has Stage 4 Kidney Cancer that has moved into his lungs. Proceeds will go toward medical expenses. Free Shredder Day will be held in the city of Glasgow at South Gate Plaza March 18th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Items that can be shredded include: paper, dvd's, phone books, newspaper, file folders, paper clips, binder clips and brochures. Items that can not be shredded include: plastic, cardboard, three ring binders, account ledgers, hard back books, liquids or pills. A Community Gospel Singing will be held this year on April 22nd at Cecilia Baptist Church and later on at Ormsby Heights Baptist Church in Louisville.

Community Gospel Singings will be September 9th at New Hope Baptist Church in Versailles and October 28th at Elizabethtown Baptist Church.
