Hart County 4-H is hosting a soup and chili lunch on Friday, February 3rd at the Hart County Extention Office from 10:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  The cost is $5 and includes Potato Soup or Chili, Pimento Cheese or Peanut Butter Sandwich, Crackers, Homemade pies, cookies or brownies. Dine-in, carry out or delivery is available.  Drinks are included with dine-in only.  Delivery orders will be accepted through Thursday afternoon.  Orders can be faxed to 524-2453 or e-mailed to lbranste@uky.edu.  All proceeds will benefit the John Swack 4-H Scholarship Fund.

A benefit for Ronnie Cutliff of Horse Cave will be held on Saturday, March 31st at the VFW Club in Rowletts.  There will be food, cake walk, live auction, music, and raffle tickets for a country ham.  All proceeds will be used to help with medical expenses from a back surgery. The Green River Animal Welfare League is still offering a free spay or neuter for your dog or cat if you are 65 or older and live in Adair, Metcalfe, and Russell County.  This free offer is good for any dog or cat you own.  To be eligible, you must fill out an application and include proof of age and residency.  Applications are available at your County Clerk's Office or the Chamber of Commerce.  This free service is provided by GRAWL and participating veterinarians.

The food pantry will be open every 3rd Thursday of the month at the Munfordville Baptist Church from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.  Also the food pantry is open on the following Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon.

Quitting smoking is not easy, but with the right support you can do it.  The Cooper/Clayton method gives people the help they need to get past their cravings.  If you or someone you know is interested in quitting smoking, call the Kentucky Cancer Program at 270-842-0950 to enroll in these classes.  The classes are free, but require nicotine replacement therapy.  Nicotine replacement products will be available for the participant to purchase at a low discount price.  Nicotine patches will cost participants about $1.50 a day.

Fibromyalgia Support Group will have monthly sessions scheduled each 3rd Wednesday at 3pm at the T. J. The Family Medical Center of Hart County will be hosting Diabetes Education Classes on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 1pm until 3pm.  Diet and glucose meter education is provided by a registered dietician and an RN.  For details, contact 270-524-7231.  You do not have to be a patient at the Family Medical Center to attend.

Community Adult and Pediatric Heart Saver CPR, First Aid and Blood-borne Pathogen Training Classes remain available at T. J. Samson's Educational Resource Center in Glasgow.  These classes are specifically designed for, but not limited to, lay rescuers who are required to obtain a course completion card or credential that documents completion.  Pre-registration is required.  Anyone may call 270-651-4745 for information.  Individuals interested in Healthcare Provider CPR Classes may call the Education Department at T.
