April 19th, 2018

Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, located 3 miles from Munfordville on Cub Run Hwy 88, will be having spring revival services beginning Thursday, April 19th, and running through Sunday, April 22nd, at 7:00 p.m. each night and 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning. The evangelist will be Bro. Shannon McCubbins, pastor of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Larue County. There will be special singing each night and a meal after services on Sunday.

Dance at Mt. Hermon Community Center will be held Friday, April 20th, featuring Country Strong. The doors open at 6:00 p.m. and concessions will be available.

 

April 21st, 2018

Friends of Barren River Lake & Park will host Cruzin the Barren County Car Show Saturday, April 21st. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. with trophies awarded to Top 15 classics and top 15 late models. There will be dash plaques for the first 100 registered. The entry fee is $10. A Yeti raffle will also be held and the event is free to the public at Barren River Lake State Resort Park. Animal Rescue Kare, known as ARK, is offering Spay, Neuter & Rabies vouchers to Hart County Residents on Saturday, April 21st, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Horse Cave Fire House.  You must be at least 18 years of age, show proof of residency, one per family per address per event, there is a $25 co-pay due upon receipt of voucher on a first come-first serve basis. The vouchers will expire in 90 days.

There will be a benefit gospel singing and chili supper at Samson Street Church of God at 428 Samson Street in Glasgow on Saturday, April 21st. The chili supper will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. featuring the Masseys, the Kinslows, Johnathan Carter, Marris & Marrie Taylor. All funds raised will go toward a vehicle for a needy person. ACME Lodge 851 F&AM Bonnieville is hosting their annual Fish Dinner & Auction on Saturday, April 21st, at Bonnieville Elementary School from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The auction will immediately follow the dinner. The cost for adults is $8 and for children 12 & under $4. Local politicians will be offered an opportunity to introduce themselves.

A benefit will be held for Jr. Sallee at the Hodgenville Community Center on Saturday, April 28th, at 2:00 p.m. est. A silent auction will begin at 2:00 p.m. followed with cake walk, face painting, supper and the live auction begins at 6:00 p.m. Various gospel groups will be singing. 14th Annual Drive for a Cure will be held Saturday, April 28th, starting at 10:00 a.m. with a tractor drive, both antique and modern. All proceeds will go to American Cancer Society in memory of Jessal Martin and in honor of Ryan Rutledge. Bluegrass Jammin' on the Porch session will be held Thursday nights in May at The Bookstore in downtown Horse Cave from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The bluegrass jam sessions are free and open to the public.
