Horse Cave Heritage Festival is celebrating 25 years. Come out for shopping, family fun, kid's activities, events, live music and more. If you would like to be a vendor, please contact Crystal at 270-786-2680 while spots are available.

 

A Barren County Reunion singing will take place Saturday, September 20th, at 6:00 p.m. at Barren County High School Auditorium at 407 Trojan Trail in Glasgow. The event will showcase groups from Barren and other area counties, spanning past to present; including trios, duets and ultimately forming a large choir. The event is free and open to all. Dance at Mt. Hermon Community Center will be held Saturday, September 20th, featuring Little David and Bad Country. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. For more information, call 270-427-8400.

 

Sanctified Annual Gospel Singing Homecoming will be held Saturday, September 20th, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Old Alvaton Gym, 6350 Old Scottsville Road. Honored guest will be Pastor Wade Hughes and singers include: Sanctified, Turner Family, Sis. Elise Henley, the Massey's, Crimson Chord, the Greens and the Scolfields. September 25th, 2025

Mt. Olivet Baptist Church will be having Revival September 25 – 27 at 7:00 PM CT. and on Sunday, the 28th, at 11:00 AM., with a fellowship meal after service. Bro. Freddy Thompson will be preaching.  There will be special singing each night. The church is located on Cub Run Hwy, 3 miles west of Munfordville.

The Down Syndrome Association of the Heartland (DSAH) will host the Annual Buddy Walk at Central Hardin High School at 3040 Leitchfield Rd, Cecilia from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon.  There will be various activities; inflatables, face painting, Disney princess visits, carnival-style games and a silent auction. 100% of funds raised stay local and directly benefit the children and families they serve and is a non-profit organization. Crossroads Life Center invites everyone out to their annual Walk for Life event, Saturday, September 27th. Check in begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 9:00 a.m. at 123 E Washington Street, Glasgow. Their mission includes educating, equipping and empowering women and men to make confident, healthy and life-affirming choices for their families. Bethel Baptist Church on 31W in Upton will host a singing Friday afternoon, October 3rd, at 6:00 p.m. The Joyful Echoes and others will be singing.

 

October 11th, 2025

Cancer Benefit for Tamisha Hayes will be held Saturday, October 11th, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Sulphur Well Park, located 1459 Sulphur Well - Knob Lick Road, Edmonton. There will be a silent auction, Horseshoe tournament, cake walk, 50/50 tickets, duck pond, and plate lunches. Enjoy music with live bands. All proceeds go toward treatments and other medical expenses.

 

October 17th, 2025

The 79th annual Kentucky State Gospel Singing Convention will be held Friday, and Saturday, October 17th and 18th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Cave Area Convention Center at 502 Mammoth Cave Street in Cave City, located off Exit 53 on I-65. Arists include: gospel music trios, quartets, Southern and country gospel. Admission is free and concessions will be available. A love offering will be taken each night with door prizes given away. Bobby Driver Memorial Scholarship Fund event will take place at Plaza theatre, located at 115 East Main St., Glasgow. Its Motown Mania and featuring The Sidewinders, along with special guests: Tyrone Dunn & Sheila Lawrence. It's all happening Saturday, November 1st, at 7:00 p.m. The doors will open at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 and proceeds benefit the Bobby Driver Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Way Church and Seventh Day Slumber are partnering to host worship and Christian Rock, as the Time of Our Lives Tour comes to The Way Church in Horse Cave Sunday, November 2nd, at 7:00 PM on Main Street featuring: Seventh Day Slumber, Sean Rodriguez  and Magdalene Rose.

Low income families in need of assistance to pay summer utility bills for cooling can apply for the LIHEAP Summer Subsidy.  Enrollment is underway at Community Action of Southern Kentucky Offices around the region.  The program runs through September 12th or until funds are depleted. Qualified applications are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Benefits are paid directly to the household’s electric provider. Community Action for Hart County Residents is located at 509 A. A. Whitman Lane in Munfordville.  Their phone number is 270-524-0224.  Offices are also located on Happy Valley Road in Glasgow, on North Main Street in Brownsville and on West Stockton Street in Edmonton. Hart County Senior Center is open Monday thru Friday from 8am until Noon and offers daily meals, activities, exercise equipment use and other great services like informational programs on current issues affecting seniors. For more information and to take advantage of these free community services, call 270-524-1019. The senior center is closed on Holidays.

Bookmobile service from the Hart County Public Library continues expanding! The service is open to any resident of the county and is especially helpful to those with a busy schedule or has trouble getting out. Call 270-524-1953 to request service or ask questions.
