Glasgow City Clean-Up Week will begin Saturday, March 23rd, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Southgate Houchens with the City-Wide Clean-Up during the week of March 25-29th. Regular garbage collection day on pick up days. Large items will be collected such as: couches, shelves, chairs, recliners and windows, bundled tree and shrub trimmings. All items must be near the curb/near the garbage can and away from utility poles. During Clean-up week, country trucks, dumpsters and employees will be at designated drop-off locations from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The service is free to all citizens of Barren County. Monday's location will be Hiseville, Tuesday - Park City and Cave City Fire Dept's. Wednesday - East Barren Fire Dept., Thursday - Austin Tracy and Haywood Fire Dept's., Friday at Temple Hill Fairgrounds and South Barren Volunteer Fire Dept. Whickerville Baptist Church Youth Yard Sale/Bake Sale will be held Saturday, March 23rd. All proceeds go to Whickerville Baptist Church Youth Group and if raining, will be held the following Saturday.

Dance at Mt. Hermon Community Center will be held Saturday, March 23rd, featuring Generation and doors open at 6:00 p.m. Concessions will be available. Also Dance classes will be held at the center every Tuesday evening from 7 to 9:00 p.m. For more information, call 270-427-8400.


March 25th, 2019

Cave City Clean-Up will be held during the week of March 25th through March 30th from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. across from the firehouse at the recycle location. Remember, no tires, paint or hazardous materials. For more information, call City Hall at Cave City at 270-773-2188.


March 29th, 2019

Dance at Mt. Hermon Community Center will be held Friday, March 29th, featuring Southern Rain. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Concessions will be available.


April 1st, 2019

Theatre Therapy for Young Artists on the Autism Spectrum will be held April 1st - 5th for 1st through 8th graders diagnosed with ASD. The location will be the Phoenix Theatre, on Morris Alley, Bowling Green from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The cost is $75 per camper and limited financial aid is available. April 4th, 2019

April 6th, 2019

 Free Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Mt. Hermon Community Center Saturday, April 6th, at 1:00 p.m. There will be prizes for each age group.


 April 15th, 2019

The Mobile Service Office of the Disabled American Veterans will be on location at Wal-mart in Glasgow on Monday, April 15th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to assist Veterans with filing of claims or help with existing claims. Veterans will need to bring a copy of their DD-214 and any paperwork they have from the V.A.


 April 17th, 2019

Cave Area Celebration will be held at the Cave City Convention Center on April 17th, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be attraction booths, customer service video, coupons, free passes to 20 plus local attractions for front-line employees only and concessions available. Free day long escorted tours and free passes to return with a friend. Lunch is included. Space is limited. Call 270-773-3131 to reserve space.


April 19th, 2019

The Primitive Quartet from Candler, North Carolina, will sing at the Cave City Convention Center Friday night, April 19th, at 7:00 p.m. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. No tickets will be sold. A love offering will be received at the door. Seating is on a first come - first serve basis. The singing is sponsored by Teresa Lynn Aldridge with American Mobility Products, Inc. Edmonton United Methodist Church will have revival April 22nd - 24th at 6:30 p.m. each evening. The speaker will bhe Bro. Ron Miller of the Bible Breakfast Club and pastor with Bethel Fellowship Ministries International out of McDaniels, Ky.


April 26th, 2019

The second annual Barren County Farm, Home & Garden Expo will be held April 26th-27th at the Glasgow National Guard Armory. There will be activities for spring planting, cooking demonstrations, gardening, remodeling and pony rides, bounce houses, face artists and local food. Come out Saturday at 11:00 a.m. to hear Colton Kise and Payne Flat perform live. In addition, the Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture, Ryan Quarles, will discuss hemp production in Kentucky and Warren Beeler, "Mr. Kentucky Agriculture" will be on hand. April 27th, 2019

A Country Ham Breakfast will be held at the Bear Wallow/Cave City #231 Masonic Lodge. The lodge will be serving up country ham, biscuits, red eye gravy and country gravy. The cost is $7 per person and hours will be 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

A benefit for Wesley & Elsie Hogan will be held Saturday, April 27th, at Memorial Elementary School on North Jackson Highway in Hardyville beginning at 12:00 p.m. Wesley has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer and proceeds will go toward treatment cost. There will be a car, truck and motorcycle show with an entry fee of $10. Prizes will be given. Also gospel singing at noon, cake walk, raffles and meals will be available. Tri-County Mounted Search & Rescue will host dinner and a concert starring Twang & Round on Saturday, May 4th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Edmonson County High School gym. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. with special guest Jason Evans and more. There will be a silent auction. All proceeds will go to benefit Tri-County Mounted Search & Rescue and tickets are $15. 11th Annual Shake Your Paw Ball will be held Saturday, May 11th, at the Cave City Convention Center at 6:30 p.m. There will be music by High Fidelity. The fundraiser supports the Barren River Animal Welfare Association. Tickets are $60 per person and include a meal and two drinks. The 18th Annual Norm Taylor Golf Scramble will be held Saturday, May 18th, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Payouts will be based on a minimum of 52 players with a 4-man blind draw scramble.
