God's House Assembly located near Knob Lick on Hwy 70 will be having a special Easter week celebration beginning Thursday, April 2nd. There will be a special prayer service, communion and a study of Easter week. Friday there will be a singing with several local singers.  Both services will start at 6:00 p.m.  Saturday there will be an egg hunt for all community children. Prizes will be given and hot dogs and chips will be served starting at 2:00 p.m. The Sunday morning sunrise service begins at 7:00 a.m. followed by a country breakfast. There will be an Easter service at 11:00 a.m.




April 3rd, 2015


A benefit will be held for Cassie Wilson Logsdon and family on Friday, April 3rd, at 6:00 p.m. at Bowling Park Gym. There will be food, singing and an auction.  Cassie is undergoing treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma.


Good Friday Seven Last Sayings of Christ service will be held at Leitchfield Crossing Baptist Church on Friday, April 3rd, at 6:00 p.m.  There will be seven preachers, and special music. Bro. Ben Benningfield is the pastor.


Munfordville Baptist Church's Adult Choir will be presenting their Good Friday Easter Cantata, "The Day He Wore My Crown", on Friday, April 3rd, at 6:00 p.m. at the church located at 501 Northwest Street in Munfordville.



April 4th, 2015


The Cave City Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 4th, at 10:30 a.m. at Caveland Church, 9315 Happy Valley Road, Cave City.  There will be a drawing for a 16GB iPod Touch and a bicycle for the kids.


United Faith Independent Church will host their annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 4th, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.  There will be prizes for all children. The church is located on North Jackson Highway in the Goodnight community of Barren County.  For more information, call 270-646-8461.


Woodsonville Brotherhood Annual Breakfast will be held Saturday, April 4th, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Woodsonville Baptist Church. Monetary donations accepted.


Red Lick United Methodist Church, located at 3976 Mosby Ridge Road, Edmonton, will have an Easter Celebration Saturday, April 4th, starting at 1:00 p.m. This is for all ages.


Edmonton Worship Center will host its annual Kid's Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 4th, at noon. The egg hunt groups are for kids up through age 12, there will also be activities for the kids.




April 5th, 2015


There will be a Sunrise Service Sunday at 7:00 a.m. at Ridgetop Lake on Mammoth Cave Road and a breakfast service at Highland United Methodist Church in Cave City.


The Lighthouse Church in Horse Cave will have an Easter Sunrise Service Sunday morning at 6:00 a.m.  Breakfast will be served after the service in the fellowship hall. Sunday school begins at 10 with worship service to follow and there will be no evening service.


Edmonton Worship Center's annual Easter Sunrise Service at 6:00 a.m. The men will be cooking breakfast. Worship service will begin at 10:30 a.m.


Samson Street Church of God in Glasgow will have Easter Sunday service with Sunday School at 11:00a.m. and a children's egg hunt at 11:15 a.m., worship service will begin at noon with a potluck dinner to follow. The pastor is Bro. Roger Kinslow.


Easter Sunrise Service will be held Sunday morning at 6:00 a.m. at Red Lick United Methodist Church, joined by Chesnut Grove Christian Church. A meal will follow.


Breeding United Methodist Church will have an Easter service Sunday at 9:30 a.m. with a potluck meal to follow.


Rowletts Baptist Church will hold an Easter sunrise service Sunday, April 5th, at 6:00 a.m.  The adult choir will be presenting the musical "Jesus Messiah".  A country ham breakfast will follow the sunrise service. Sunday School will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the morning worship service at 11:00 a.m. Bro. Dwayne Cook is the church pastor.


Three Forks Bacon Creek Church will have Easter Sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. CDT. The church is located 12 miles north of Munfordville on Hwy 357.  For more information, call 270-358-5041.

Grace Union Baptist Church will be having Sonrise service on Sunday morning, April 5th, at 6:00 a.m. with Bro. Dave Cash. Breakfast will be prepared by the men after service. Worship hour is at 11:00 a.m. There will be not Sunday evening service.


The Sneed Family will sing at First Church of God in Somerset Sunday, April 5th, at 10:30 a.m.


Glasgow Faith Church will have Sunrise service Easter Sunday at 6:00 a.m. with breakfast to follow. Worship service will be held at 10:00 a.m. with no Sunday School and there will be an Easter egg hunt after church. The church is located on the Old Bowling Green Road, Glasgow. The pastor is Bro. Roger Poynter.


The 11th annual Gospel Music FanFair will be held May 18-23rd in the Somerset Center for Rural Development’s performance theatre.  Daily events throughout the week include morning worship services, daily showcases, afternoon matinees, and the 2015 Gospel Music Fan Awards.   Open nominations are currently being accepted. Cherry Blossom Colorful 5k Run/Walk will be held Saturday, April 11th, at 9:00 a.m. in Munfordville, the starting line will be behind the courthouse.  The entry fee for individuals is $35 and for teams $30. You may register the day of race and t-shirt and color can be picked up from 7:45 to 8:45 the morning of the run. Entry forms may be picked up at the Munfordville Welcome Center. Free Large Item Drop-Off will be held April 13th through April 18th at the Drop-Off Center, 300 Quality Street, Munfordville.  The hours are 8 to 2 Monday through Friday and 8 to 12 Saturday.  Items excluded: wood, carpet, trash, building materials, tires and roofing. Cave Area Celebration will be held at the Cave City Convention Center Wednesday, April 15th, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Learn about fun things to do in the cave area. There will also be a customer service video, attraction booths and free passes to more than 20 local attractions for front-line employees, along with coupons and concessions for sale.  Also the Cave Area Attractions Tours for front-line employees will be held for Barren, Hart and Edmonson counties beginning April 28th. This will include day-long escorted tours with brief visits to area attractions and free pass to return with a friend, lunch is included. The Hart of Autism is hosting a fundraiser "Straight from the Hart" on Saturday, April 18th, at the Hart County Fairgrounds in Munfordville.  All local and national businesses and families are invited to participate.  There will be a dinner, entertainment, and a silent and live auction.
