In response to the COVID-19 emergency, Community Action Agencies across Kentucky are now taking applications for an added spring open enrollment period for Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
Applications will be accepted through June 30, 2020, or until designated funds are depleted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The program, which is designed to help low-income households offset home energy costs, has increased income eligibility requirements to 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
All applicants will be required to supply documentation at time of application:
• Proof of Social Security Number or Permanent Residence card (Green Card) for each member of the household.
• Proof of all household’s (all members) income from the preceding month.
• Most current heating bill, statement from your landlord if heating expenses are included in your rent, statement from utility company if you participate in a Pre-Pay Electric Program.
• The account number and name on the account for main heating fuel sources and electric bill.

Hart County School is announcing graduation plans for Friday, May 29th, and Saturday, May 30th. Each graduate will have the opportunity to participate in an individual event. Hart County has 173 graduates for 2020. Students may have up to 6 guests with them.

Career EDGE, a web-based platform to deliver virtual career services to job-seekers, is set to be implemented statewide this month. The South Central Workforce Development Board was the first workforce board in Kentucky to begin utilizing Career EDGE. Career EDGE consists of 18 interactive modules with built-in virtual coaching including a job interview simulator, resume and job application builder, guidance in developing a personal brand, and essential life skills curriculum to support career seekers in preparation for finding a job or advance in employment. Along with the introduction of Career EDGE in each of the state’s 10 workforce regions, is an outreach effort primarily led on the social media platforms, Facebook, Instragram, and Twitter @kycareeredge. The Kentucky State Police is featuring the rugged Jeep Gladiator Rubicon to support their fundraising efforts for Trooper Island Camp. The agency is selling raffle tickets for a chance to win this multipurpose vehicle recently named “2020 Pickup of the Year”. The Kiwanis Club of Glasgow's 27th Annual James W.
