Faith Independent Church will have their annual Homecoming Service on Sunday, August 19th, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday School will be dismissed and the Gloryroad Singers from Green County will be sing. Glasgow Faith Church on the Old Bowling Green Road in Glasgow will have homecoming service on Sunday, August 19th. The Spirituals will sing at 10:00 a.m. There will be no Sunday School or Sunday night service.

Kiwanis Club of Caverna will celebrate itís official opening on Tuesday, August 21st, with itís Charter night being held at Caverna High School. There will be a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m. conducted by the Chamberís of Commerce from Cave City and Hart Co. followed at 6:00 with a dinner catered by the students of Caverna High Schoolís culinary program. There will also be a silent auction with all proceeds going into the service fund to be used exclusively for projects to benefit the youth of the Caverna area. Hart County Community Action has a clothing closet that is open on Mondays and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Residents that live in Hart County may come during those times. Applicants must provide the prior month's income and social security cards for each member of the household. Gently used clean clothing and small household items are accepted. The St. Helen 53rd annual Community Ice Cream Social will be held Saturday, August 25th, at the St. Helen Parish Center at 230 Calvary Drive in Glasgow, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will also be kids and family games, a bake sale, yard sale and various Vendor booths, along with silent auction. All proceeds will go toward building a new church rectory and donations are appreciated.
