June 10th, 2023

Liberty District Unity Day Fellowship for Liberty District Churches and Entire Community will be held Saturday, June 10th, from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at 301 Bunche Avenue in Glasgow. Food trucks and various vendors will be available. Activities include: corn hole boards, Bounce House Splash Slip & Slide, board games, door prizes and music with free hotdogs, chips & drink.  Bring your lawn chair. Moderator: Warner T. Fishback.

 

Community Fellowship Day will be held at Whickerville Church at 90 Whickerville Road Saturday, June 10th, at 1:00 p.m. There will be free food, singing and preaching.

Old Fashion Father's Day Revival will be held at Samson Street Church of God in Glasgow Saturday, June 10th, through Sunday, June 18th. Bro. Jay Boyd, from Elizabethtown, will preach Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday at 12 noon. Sis. Juanita Combs, from Hazard, will be there Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Michael Knight & the Redeemed, from Chattanooga, TN, will be guests for Thursday, Friday & Saturday at 7:00 p.m. There will be gifts for all fathers with communion each service and free food after each service. The pastor is Roger Kinslow.

 

 

June 23rd, 2023

The 23rd Annual Kentucky Southern Gospel Music Singing Convention will be held Friday, June 23rd, at 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 24th, at 3:00 p.m. at the Cave City Convention Center. There will be groups and soloists, as well as local groups performing.  A camp meeting will be held Saturday, June 24th, at 12:00 p.m. Bro.  First birthday paw-ty event for the Hart County Animal Shelter will take place Saturday, June 24th, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the main shelter building, 2190 S Dixie Hwy, Munfordville (by the fairgrounds). Tennessee River Boys will sing at Glasgow Faith Church at 3050 Old Bowling Green Road, Glasgow, on Sunday, June 25th, during the 11:00 a.m. morning service.

 

 

June 26th, 2023

Vacation Bible School will be held at the Faith Independent Church on Monday, June 26th, through Wednesday, June 28th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  There will be classes for all ages. Hart County Chamber of Commerce is holding the Annual Chamber Banquet at the Hart County Fairgrounds Floral Hall at 2184 South Dixie Highway in Munfordville, Thursday, June 29th, at 6:00 p.m. Murrays Restaurant will be catering the event. The annual business meeting will be held along with a silent auction and awards will be presented.  Tickets are $25. Reserve a table for up to 8 for $210. Hart County Solid Waste announces 2023 dates for Free Large Item Drop Off. All Saturday times are 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

 July 8th, August 5th, September 9th, October 7th & November 4th.

Items considered free large drop off items:

couches, chairs, recliners, mattresses, box springs, tvs, tables, dressers, and large furniture

Paint: must be mixed 50/50 with cat litter or sand

Metal and large appliances: free year round (refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, dryers, most dishwashers, water heaters, microwaves, grills.

The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is offering the public the opportunity to own a brand-new vehicle in 2023. The agency’s non-profit, Trooper Island Camp, is raffling off a luxurious 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali 4WD, and proceeds from the sales support the camp for underprivileged children. Coming from Bailey-Gibson Buick GMC in Glasgow, Ky. It’s equipped with a 5.3L, EcoTec3 V-8 engine, and an integrated trailer brake controller and trailering package.

Last year, Trooper Island Camp set a new record by selling all 35,000 tickets for the 2022 GMC Sierra raffle truck.

Tickets are $10 each and are available on the Trooper Island website or any KSP post throughout the state. A total of 50,000 tickets will be sold, with the raffle truck drawing on August 27, 2023, at 3 PM (ET) at the Kentucky State Fair.

Trooper Island is a free summer camp for underprivileged boys and girls aged 10-12 operated by the Kentucky State Police on Dale Hollow Lake in Clinton County. It is financed entirely by donations; no public funds are used.

 

 

September 15th, 2023

Horse Cave Heritage Festival will be held downtown Horse Cave September 15th & 16th. There will be live music, food trucks, crafts, clothing, games, mini train, bouncy houses and more. Open Enrollment for health insurance through kynect health coverage, Kentucky’s health insurance marketplace, is underway through January 15th. Open Enrollment is your chance to enroll for health coverage and see if you are eligible for payment assistance to lower your premium.  It’s possible your coverage options have changed since a carrier has increased its coverage counties.  Visit kynect.ky.gov or call 1-855-4kynect to review your options, find local help, and enroll.
