Hart County Solid Waste along with Priceville Fire Department will be accepting donations at Hart County Solid Waste at 300 Quality Street, Munfordville until October 23rd for the flood victims in North Carolina.

Specific items are needed, including: food, bottled water, contractor-size trash bags, blankets, first aid supplies, feminine hygiene products, diapers and baby clothes, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, paper towels, bleach, shovels, brooms, gloves, coolers, propane, flash lights, batteries, fans, dehumidifiers, and generators and cook stoves. Please no cash donations.  If you have any questions, call Hart County Solid Waste Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or you may call Noah at Priceville Fire Department at 270-537-1049. October 24th, 2024

Property owners in the African American residential neighborhood West of the railroad track in downtown Horse Cave are invited to attend an informational meeting regarding what it means to have your property listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The public meeting will take place on Thursday, October 24, at 6:00 p.m. at Horse Cave First Baptist Church at 219 Church Street. This area is bounded by Guthrie Street on the North, the L&N Railroad Track and US 31-W on the East, McFerran Street on the South, and Old Dixie Highway on the West.  An invitation letter will be mailed to the property owners within this area.

 

Feeding America will be held Thursday, October 24th, at Cave Area Conference Center at 8:00 a.m. Please bring proof of Barren County residence and arrive early.

 

Joyners Chapel Church will hold revival services beginning Thursday, October 24th, at 6:30 p.m. nightly. There will be several evangelist. For more information, call Bro. Ronald Riordan at 270-528-6700.

 

 

October 26th, 2024

I AM's Mission store at Knob Lick will be closing Saturday, October 26th, at 3:00 p.m. after 3 years of serving the community with free clothes and food.  Please do not leave donated items outside the store.

Hart County Veteran's Committee will host a Trunk or Treat at 3324 S Dixie Hwy, in Rowletts, Saturday, October 26th, at 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Call Randy at 270-218-1030. Any donations will go toward Hart County Veteran's needs and events.

Hart County Chamber of Commerce & Munfordville Tourism Commission present Halloween on the Square. The event will be Saturday, October 26th, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Trick or treaters will start at the Chamber Office with a free goodie bag and entry into the costume contest. Businesses, churches and more are invited to set up on the courthouse lawn. Stop by the Chamber Office to fill out a vendor form. Set up time will be 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Hart County Lady Raiders Fundraiser is happening Saturday, October 26th, at 11:00 a.m. with a Cornhole Tournament. The tournament will be held at the football field at Hart County High School. In case of inclement weather, it will be moved to the gym. There is a $20 entry fee and trophies will be given to 1st and 2nd place winners. Also a Truck & Chili Supper will be held Saturday, October 26th, at Hart County High School beginning at 4:30 p.m. The chili supper cost $7. And at 7:30 p.m., Hart County Lady Raider Softball movie night will be held at Hart County High School Practice Football Field. Halloweentown will be shown and the cost is $5 per movie ticket. There will be popcorn, drinks and candy for sale. Please bring a chair and a blanket.

Ultimate Championship Wrestling is coming to Metcalfe County Elementary School Gym at 7pm on Saturday, October 26th.  The event is a fund raiser for Metcalfe County Hornet Boys Basketball. The Joymakers will be singing at the Faith Independent Church Sunday, October 27th, at 11:00 a.m.  The church is located at 230 Boyd’s Knob Road, Munfordville. Everyone is invited to attend. Pastor, Bro. Joey Sexton.

 

Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, located at 6070 Lonoke Road in Horse Cave, will be holding Fall Revival services beginning Sunday, October 27th, at 6:30 p.m. and continuing nightly through Wednesday, October 30th. Bro. Jordan Woodie from Coral Hill Baptist Church will be the evangelist. Pastor Robby Ward and Pleasant Valley Baptist Church congregation invites everyone to the fall revival.

Hart County Salvation Army's Angel Tree sign-up deadline is nearing. The angel tree is for Hart County children infants through 4 year-olds that are not in school. Applications are by appointment only and must be filed at The Salvation Army by Monday, October 28th. The office is located at 119 East Union Street and will be open during normal business hours. BOO-Thru Cave Country is a drive through trunk-or-treat event and is free to the community. It will be held at Cave Area Conference Center from 5 to 7 pm.

 

 

October 31st, 2024

Creekside Church will host Glow Night on Thursday, October 31st, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Also Creekside Church Camp Meeting will be held Thursday, October 31st, through Saturday, November 2nd, at 6:00 p.m. nightly at Magnolia Barn. The address is 4834 South Jackson Hwy, Horse Cave.

Bobby Driver Memorial Scholarship Fund presents Music Through the Decades Saturday, November 2nd, at 7:00 p.m. Featured artists will be WKU Jazz Band & No Deposit with special guests: Depp Alexander, Tambra Cambrion, Audrey Crain, Lorraine Elleman, Jude Ingrey, Haley Biggers Smith, Todd Woodward and Melanie Watson plus special performances by All About Dance Team and GHS Scottie Singers. Singing on the Hill will be held Saturday, November 16th, at Friendship Baptist Church at 2700 Friendship Church Road, Magnolia. There will be a chili supper & silent auction beginning at 3:00 p.m. with gospel singing at 4:00 p.m. Adult plates are $6 and children's plates are $4.
