 Free COVID-19 testing will continue at Family Medical Center of Hart County in Munfordville, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and also by appointment.. Please bring your insurance card, pre-registration is not required and doctor's order is not required.

T. J. Samson Community Hospital is offering a bereavement support group as an opportunity for community members to learn to cope with feelings of grief, loss and sadness. There is no charge to attend but registration is required. The meetings are held the 3rd Monday of each month starting at 2:00 p.m. Due to COVID-19, the support group will be online via Zoom. Metcalfe County Schools will host a Back to School Clothing Giveaway Monday, August 17th, through Friday, August 21st, at the MCES Primary Gym. You must make an appointment between 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Masks will be required. To schedule a visit, call 270-432-5617 or 270-432-3593.

 

 

August 25th, 2020

 

A birthday card shower is being held for Pat Riggs, she will be 82 on August 25th. The address is 6960 Old Munfordville Road, Cave City, Ky. 42127.

 

Hart County Schools will begin Tuesday, August 25th, for the 2020 school year.  Supt. Nathan Smith said Student safety is paramount. Using Google Classroom and Ingenuity Platform, students will log on various times throughout the day. Each program will be tailored by classes and Chrome books will be provided. The school district will contact each individual family during the first week of school. Staff members will be in the building to give instruction for the students.  The Green River College & Career Academy has found ways to record videos for instruction. Book work and theory learning will be available for the 1st month. In person classes are set to begin September 28th and Fall break will be October 5th through 9th.  Food will be served on Tuesday and Wednesday the 1st week of school. Thereafter, food distribution will be Monday and Wednesday at each school.Hart County Football team is currently practicing and conditioning.  A KHSAA board meeting concerning fall sports, will be held Thursday, August 20th. Parents with any questions about how to use Google instruction or any other concerns, may contact Hart County Schools at 270-524-2631.

 

Due to the most recent recommendations from Governor Beshear, Caverna Schools will utilize guidelines to restart their instruction. Plans may be adjusted due to updated information from the Kentucky Department of Education and Governor Beshear.

 

* First day for students will be August 25th

* All students will participate in distance learning via live instruction and Google Classroom

* Students will be able to use a district device for digital instruction

* Fall break will be October 5-9 (no distance learning)

* The option for in-person classes will resume October 12th

* The food distribution will begin August 26th. Food will be delivered on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of each week.

The Kentucky State Police is featuring the rugged Jeep Gladiator Rubicon to support their fundraising efforts for Trooper Island Camp. The agency is selling raffle tickets for a chance to win this multipurpose vehicle recently named “2020 Pickup of the Year”. Tickets are $10 each and will be available at any KSP post located throughout the state. Tickets are also available to be purchased online by debit or credit card payment at https://squareup.com/store/trooper-island-inc. They can be purchased at the KSP booth at the Farm Machinery Show at the Kentucky Exposition Center Feb. 12-15 as well. The winning ticket will be drawn on Aug. 30, 2020 at the Kentucky State Fair. The Kiwanis Club of Glasgow's 27th Annual James W. Barton Memorial Golf Scramble has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 19th, at Fox Hollow Golf Course beginning at 8:00 a.m. If you would like to enter a team in the scramble, be a hole sponsor, or have any questions, please call James Bratcher at 270-670-5144. Team entry is $200 per team and hole sponsor is $100.
